Indian Parliamentary Delegation
Honored at New York Luncheon

A
special luncheon in Manhat-
tan brought together Indian
parliamentarians, community
leaders, business representatives and
members of the media for an after-
noon focused on strengthening con-
nections between India and its dias-
pora in the United States.
The event was organized by the
Alliance Indus Foundation in part-
nership with World Vegan Vision to
welcome a 15-member Indian par-
liamentary delegation visiting New
York. The delegation included repre-
sentatives from both the Lok Sabha
and Rajya Sabha and was led by C.
P. Joshi, Member of Parliament from
Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, and Chair-
person of the Lok Sabha Committee
on Petitions.
More than 100 guests attended
the gathering, which combined dip-
lomatic discussions, community net-
working and cultural engagement.
Speakers highlighted issues import-
ant to Indians living abroad, includ-
ing access to Aadhaar services, the
possibility of dual citizenship, diaspo-
ra philanthropy, knowledge sharing
and opportunities for young people
to contribute to India’s development.
Discussions also touched on
economic cooperation between the
United States and India, particularly
cross-border financial partnerships
and trade. Community representa-
tives emphasized the valuable role
played by Indian Americans in build-
ing stronger relationships between
the two countries.
The program featured remarks
from several civic and community fig-
ures, including representatives asso-
ciated with New York City’s interna-
tional affairs, healthcare, media and
cultural organizations. On the occa-
